Short information about activities in the project 2021-06-08
Meetings with the project group in january, february, march, april and june mainly about the inventory and vocabulary, Ullförmedlingen is now building the platform for the inventory (www.balticwoolbusiness.com) for networking and finding businesses in Baltic sea region.
The meeting 18 june is important to distribute the form to fill in for factories and the vocabulary for translation. A text ”About” the website/inventory and project is presented. We count on making a presentation at the Baltic Wool Conference 7-8 october and discuss how the inventory should be used in the future, hosted and financed.
The Baltic Wool Cooperation project was presented on a swedish conference 8 june hosted by NFH and Annkristin Hult with approx. 50 participants from the swedish wool sector.

We have had a visit from the Estonian Embassy in Stockholm 2-4 june and the Ambassador with crew visited Ullkontoret in Endre and got a presentation of the Baltic Wool Cooperation project as well.

A new year is waiting!
The project has due to the Covid 19 pandemia, made some changes in the activities during 2020 and 2021. Instead of travelling and meetings/study trips have we decided from the project management to move money from those activities to communication, moderators and a web-platform för the mapping/inventory of wool factories in the baltic sea region. We had 30 000 SEK for a booklet in our budget but a web-platform is more interesting now when everything is going virtual. We havegot three different offers for such a platform from Estonia and Sweden at the moment and have to make a decision about the possibilities in those soon.
We are looking forward to this new year 2021 and new challenges!

I Baltic Wool Conference 8-9 oktober 2020 deltog 8 personer från projekt Baltic Wool Cooperation;

Baltic Wool Cooperation BWC 2.0 project is now approved by the Swedish Institute.

Due to the existing covid-19 situation in europe are some changes in the project plan and activities under discussion. Instead of start-up-meeting in Stockholm a first presentation-meeting will be held by zoom or skype. If the situation changes, which we all hope for, the project group can hopefully meet in Visby in october for common discussions and further planning. More information will be sent out to all partners regularily.

Short description of the project
BWC 2.0 (Baltic Wool Cooperation) is a parallel project to the Baltic Wool Conference (BWC) and will contain networking and an inventory of plants processing sheep wool (spinning mills etc) in the Baltic Sea region.

Participation in two wool conferences (2020 and 2021) is vital for the project to find appropriate partners for future collaborations, aiming to increase wool processing and exchange between businesses in the area.

Major activities: a start meeting for all partners in Stockholm August 2020, participation in the BWC on Gotland October 2020, study trips to Estonia and Poland, planning and participation in the BWC on Gotland 2021 and a final meeting in Stockholm December 2021 or January 2022 for final summary and report.

An inventory will be made (map or booklet) outlining the mills capacity, machinery and quality/quantities produced. Networks and new cooperations will be built between businesses working with sheep wool  during the 18 months of the project!
